 BRIDGING THE GAP

Hello my Area 51 fellow trusted servants,

Let me first introduce myself to any of you who I have not had the opportunity to meet or speak to at Area Committees & Assemblies.

My name is  Paul Moon. I am honored with the task of serving as your Area 51 Treatment Facilities Coordinator. For the 2023-2024 term.

I have been contacted by some of you in regards to accessing treatment facilities locations within your districts.   In preparation for carrying meetings into their local treatment facilities. We are fortunate that North Carolina has a database for all treatment facilities that is accessible by county on their website.

n some of my discussions with different members, concerning Bridging the Gap and Treatment Facilities volunteers. I have had many inquiries and volunteered to assist with updating our antiquated paper system to a digitized database system that would allow for a more efficient operation of this program.

I am very excited and pleased to announce that we now have a website that will allow submissions of volunteers as well as submissions from those inside treatment facilities requesting assistance one they are released. The Bridging the Gap program.

I must give a tremendous “shout out” to Mary W., a fellow member and spouse of Paige W. Area 51 Corrections Coordinator 2023-2024 Term. She graciously took it upon herself to “get the ball rolling” by creating this website that will ultimately provide the state with a populated database of those requesting assistance and those desiring to volunteer to be of service.

This Area wide database will be extremely beneficial and much more efficient, to those requesting and volunteering.

It will populate and be sorted by district. It will be shared with all DCM’s in Area 51. As well as each District’s Treatment Facilities and/or Bridging the Gap    Coordinator. It went live as of May 31, 2023.

Please forward this to the appropriate coordinators in your district. Have them email me so that I can give them access to the database.

If by chance you have rotated out as DCM of your district. Please forward this email to your current DCM.

There will be links to pertinent information added to the sites as things grow.

The workshop that I will be hosting on Saturday Morning June 3 at 9:00am. At the spring assembly, it will be focused  primarily on this new website and how it will work. Also, feedback from those attending on what they would like to see added to the site.

I would encourage you to check it out. Feel free to enter submissions under the volunteers tab and the requesting from inside tab. You can’t hurt it. If you submit info on the site. Just be sure to leave a message at the end stating your “testing out the new site”
